Change your life in 24 hours!

Life Coaching made easy!

Life Coaching is simply a way to turn your life around. You don’t actually need a Life Coach, just the determination to see the process through.

So how does life coaching work?

All you have to do is set yourself some goals for each area of you life. For example these might include the following areas:

Short-term

Medium

Long-term

Family

Relationship

Work

Leisure

Finance

Your goals should be specific, achievable, and measurable. They should be ambitious but still feasible. As you work towards your goals there should be support mechanisms in place, such as friends and family, and rewards as you achieve each goal. Start with some easy quick wins.

How do I achieve change?

The greatest motivator is the avoidance of pain. So you must learn to associate in your mind the state that you want to escape from with pain, and to associate pleasure with what you aim to achieve. It also helps to visualise yourself doing whatever your goal is to make it seem real, and to motivate yourself to achieve your aim. Your visualisation might be sailing a boat towards harbour, or steering a canoe through the rapids – just choose a visualisation that works for you according to your interest in life. It helps to have your goals summarised on a little card, and to remind yourself of them at the start of each day, and at the end of the day to go over what you have achieved and learnt during that day. If you are like me, it is very easy to lose sight of your goals, so get into the habit of a daily reminder, and do all you can to avoid getting blown off course or demoralised. There are bound to be setbacks. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, tried over 100 times before he finally achieved his aim. Never lose sight of your goals and be determined.

Finally a couple of inspiring quotes:

“When you are inspired by some great project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you feel yourself in an new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

By Indian philosopher Patanjali.

And the secret of happiness?

“…….find out what you truly love, and then direct all of your energy towards doing it…..”

Robin S Sharma
