The Tortoise Tendency

Motto: Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Gandhi: “There is more to life than increasing its speed.”

People are becoming increasingly aware that the fast pace of modern life is destroying our health, our communities, and our planet. Our economy has been taken over by turbo-capitalism. We have all caught the hurry virus, and need a cure.

The Tortoise Tendency is a new organisation to support people who want to live their lives more slowly. We offer advice on slow living, including slow food, slow travel, slow work, slow exercise, slow medicine, slow education, slow leisure, and slow cities.

Like a tortoise we can move slowly but survive a long time, have a tough exterior but be soft inside, spend the winter asleep, and still win the race.
